This place is the worst! They are all about the money and will string you along as long as they can to keep you coming back. If you have a cavity, they will get just enough decay out until you finally lose the tooth and they either have to crown it or do an implant. I had ONE implant and it took almost a year to complete it! I had to keep going back for this and that...one tooth they filled twice and when I was at an appt, I mentioned to the dentist that is was still hurting. She looked at it and prescribed fluoride paste...told me to put some of that up in the tooth every night and it should be fine. I called a few months later to get an appt bc it was still hurting and the receptionist told me she would book a cleaning and the dentist would come in and look at it then! What?? That's it? And that appt was a month out...so naturally the tooth has just gotten more painful! I've had more X-rays at this dentist office in a year and half than I've had in my entire life!! And I'm old! They have a high turnover of dentists, too. I definitely do NOT recommend the Akron office.

They'll have you wait and wait and wait, but heaven forbid you're even a minute late for your appointment! They'll cancel you entirely! Even though they wouldn't have seen you by then anyways, and even though they made you wait 8 months for that appointment in the first place!

Apr 30, 2018Previous reviewWhile the quality of their dentistry is very very good, these people are some of the rudest and most mean spirited. They constantly berate you for less than perfect flossing (heaven forbid you like me needed something more serious done). I came to these guys after another dentist had caused some serious damage to my teeth, and like I said, their dentistry is quite good, hence the extra star. they saved the tooth for the most part and for about 5 years I was able to avoid a root canal. Eventually it became required. When they did the root canal, not only did the bleach they use cause my vision to go fuzzy but it was extremely painful and as you'll soon hear, with their constant stream of guilt and beratement I didn't have the ability to tell them I was in pain until I was litterally crying. The situation however came about because originally, we got half way through the root canal with the first dentist, only for me to be told I was being rescheduled to that afternoon with another dentist who was better able to finish. I'd rather have it done right so if my roots were too much for one I have zero problem with this. Where I have a problem is that i went home and came back later for a second root canal in the same day and when I came back, I sat in the dental chair for over an hour and a half before I was seen, the whole time the dentist and his assistant kept telling me how lucky I was to be seen at all, how much of an inconvenience my appointment was for him, and that even though earlier that day the secretary had personally confirmed the opening of my appointment with him right in front of me, that she had been in error and should not have made my appointment and he should really just go home, and that he might go home even then. Even after I was numbed and he began drilling for 15 minutes he told me of how he may not be able to do this, that he shouldnt even try, he was going to be late for dinner etc etc.. the diatribe was constant the entire time I sat hostage in the chair, mixed every so often with an aside about how I wouldn't have had a problem at all if I took better care of my teeth (not true as this particular problem began when a senile dentist made an error and drilled into a healthy tooth) Then, when I had an appointment today to get the crown placed, I was running a whole 12 minutes late and was going to be another 3-4, I called, apologized and explained, told them I've been having pain, that I think the temp filling had fallen out and that the tooth may have cracked, I'm a heart patient and the risk for infection - none of it mattered, they who kept me waiting for an hour and a half and berated me through my entire last appointment, couldn't be bothered to have the decency to allow me 15 whole minutes. And as if in my condition that's not frustrating enough, the secretary again became rude when I explained my situation and tells me "well then, if it's so important then you shouldn't have been late then should you? I can get you in next week." An entire week with tooth pain and possible infection. In a heart patient. From people who will make you wait an hour and a half. While they criticize you. All Because you who had the decency to call, had to be very slightly late. When you were minutes away from being there. While they once again berated you for unavoidable circumstances. I get when policy and their situation mean I can't be seen when I would like, but I draw the line at their incredible and extreme rudeness that is CONSTANTLY a part of their practice. Plenty of dentists are quite skilled in dentistry and while I admit they're skilled, the rudeness and superiority complex these people have in literally every way makes them intolerable under the best of circumstances, but it's near torture for someone with less than ideal teeth to deal with their constant judgement and rudeness. I'd recommend finding someone else if I were you.

Great Dentist office. All the doctors and nurses are very friendly and helpful. Been going here for years. Very good with kids, have taken all 3 of my kids since they were young. My family has had regular 6 month exams, teeth removed, fillings and wisdom teeth removed from them and all have been good experiences.

I had made an appointment and it was 2 months away. They called me 2 months after making the appointment and 3 days before my appointment to say they made a mistake, they actually can't help me because they just reviewed my case/situation. Very unprofessional...

Very rude secretary! They proceeded to give appointment reminders through email after I told dr young that I do not check my email because it's full of spam! This lady called me at 9:12 to let me know that I missed my 9:00 appointment scheduled from 2 months ago. No phone call reminder so I forgot anyhow she put me on hold and must of asked dr young if he liked to dismiss me. Of course she did! I asked her why I was being dismissed for 1 missed appointment when the policy is usually 3 she said technically it doesn't have to be. What a joke!!!!! She's rude she needs to be fired . She's very unprofessional and grouchy! Going else where for treatment is Better then talking with that lady.

I wouldn't recommend them. At first they seem great . Then you come back to a whole new place. If you have for example Medicaid they treat you different. But if you have an insurance you pay for they treat you a little better. But if you ask them to find you a sooner appointment because you are in pain...the staff tells you to never come back and hangs up on you . Unprofessional and rude and discriminating.
Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 31, 2018Previous reviewThis office is extremely unprofessional & rude. If you have one really good insurance they treat you one way if you have to go to a state insurance they treat you another and the so called office manager is rude and thinks she has the right to dismiss you because you want an earlier appointment I would recommend not going to this office if you want to be treated like garbage and if you want to speak to the dentist they try to say he won't be in which is another lie. I will never recommend this place to anyone look at the reviews on google they are not good others have had similar experiences.if I could give negative stars I would. Go to a dentist that respects his patients and will see them when they step into the room . And a dentist office staff they will give patients respect because this one doesn't they don't care if your in pain or not and will say for the procedure that you need the only appointment is a month away.

I just moved to this area 3 weeks ago to be closer to a parent that is in palliative care.
I am due for a dental checkup and cleaning so I called Marino & Associates and made an appointment as a new patient.
My father, whom is 87 years old, suffered a heart attack the morning of my dentist appointment. As I was at that hospital with my mother for nearly 3 days straight, that appointment never crossed my mind.
I called Marino & Associates to reschedule and to bring them my business and was told that they cannot reschedule me because i did not call to cancel the other appointment.
I didn't even try to explain. I was so caught off guard. There are many good dentists around. I won't spend another minute of my time with this outfit.
They obviously don't care about people. It's all about the money.
Too bad.
I have never encountered such reprehensible behaviour from a "professional" office in my 50+ years.
Caveat EmptorHelpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 5, 2016Previous reviewI missed my first appointment as a new patient due to a family medical emergency.
Called back to reschedule and they said they couldn't reschedule because I didn't call to cancel the first appointment. They didn't ask so I didn't tell why.
I think I just dodged a bullet. What was I thinking when I thought I would give her a shot?
The sooner businesses like this understand that we are the ones hiring them, not they us, the better off they'll be.
Lots of good-guy dentists out here with old school values. That's where I'll take my business.

As usual everything was top notch except for the no personality awful office manager. She is not only rude but absolutely no manners either and I think that she is totally inept at her job!

Ok, long wait. Even got here early like they asked. Most Drs are bad about this and it's very irritating

I have to say that this is the best dentist that i have been to in my life. I came to this place suffering with high anxiety, adrenal fatigue and heart problems. These people were amazing to me and very kind. Dr Gruden is amazing!!!!! She radiates sweetness and i trust her completely. This was a completely non-judgemental atmosphere. The only issues i had with this place was that they have a female secretary that is really stuck up and always rolls her eyes at me and acts like she is superior over and she is blonde with her hair in a ponytail all the time. I try to avoid her each time i am there. The other problem is that they have an air freshener that sprays out on you. Onetime it got on me and i got a migraine really bad and had to use the scrubby part of a sponge to get it off my skin it took along time i wish they didnt use them
