Characteristics of an Entrepreneur.

Not all entrepreneurs are the same, some receive formal training, others have a natural flair, still others break every rule or use very unusual approaches. There is no recipe for becoming a successful entrepreneur, but there are certain characteristics that are associated with entrepreneurial success. Below, are some of the more important ones which you as an entrepreneur may wish to add to your list of assets:

Aptitude:

Most people have a wide range of natural aptitudes and talents, you must identify and analyse yours; then, with practice, hard work, and education, those basic aptitudes and talents, will turn you into a real entrepreneur.

Risk tolerance:

Risk can be defined as the possibility of failure in pursuing some activity or business venture. Risk tolerance is the degree to which you can comfortably accept taking chances. As an entrepreneur you will have little choice but to take calculated risks, while most try to avoid risk. As an entrepreneur you must learn from both the risks you take and the failures you will face. Even if you do fail, surrender is not an option, because you know, that armed with better knowledge you will succeed next time.

Self-confidence:

A key characteristic of any entrepreneur is that they believe in their abilities. Because of this, it is easier for others to believe and invest in them. An entrepreneur is also confident because they know when and who to ask for help.

Creativity:

This means that you look for and find innovative solutions, you can do this, because you know that this opens your mind to potential success. Creativity appears as an invention, an innovation, or solution, in fact, the successful entrepreneur is a person with more ideas that can ever be implemented. Entrepreneurs see opportunities everywhere.

Perseverance:

Creating and running a business often means long working hours, disappointments, and setbacks. Perseverance pushes you to keep going, keep trying, keep investing time, money, and effort in your business ideas. Often, a new business can take two or more years to become profitable and you must be prepared to continue selling your ideas and work hard.

Integrity:

An entrepreneur with integrity creates more confidence in customers and potential investors, so they are more inclines to be loyal. When someone follows through on promises and follow integrity principles, customers start knowing, buying, and even tell friends about you. In addition, personal integrity can help you maintain your commitment to your business vision.

Passion:

One of the most important characteristics associated with successful entrepreneurship is passion. Entrepreneurs love what they do, and they do what they love. Often, their ideas arise from something they love, like a hobby, or invention. Talk to any entrepreneur about their company and you will hear excitement in their voice. Entrepreneurs typically care more about what they are doing, than how much money they make; the most important thing is to achieve their objectives.
