Carefree crossing

Good preparation is half the work. Below you will find useful information related to your ferry crossing.

Some companies do not accept bookings that are made more than 14 days in advance. When booked on the same day as the day of departure, then it may be that the departure is fully booked. So do not wait until your vehicle is in the harbour.

For the smooth process of your reservation, it is wise to make reservations during business hours because not all companies accept reservations made on the weekend and holidays or even outside normal business hours (08:00 to 18:00).

Reservations

All reservations will be confirmed with a unique booking number which the driver has to hand over at check in at the ferry terminal. It may happen that the booking will not be immediately confirmed and that your vehicle is placed on a numbered waiting list. Made reservations which are not used must be canceled otherwise you risk charges of No Show.

Check-in

Most companies require that guided vehicles register at least 2 hours before departure. For the short-Channel routes it is sufficient to check-in one hour prior to departure. Because the vehicles are shipped in order of arrival at the terminal. Reserved vehicles who register late will lose their right on their permanent place on board.

Unaccompanied vehicles must be at the terminal at least 3 hours before departure.

Shipping documents

Hazardous Goods (DGD form) and oversized transport (form) should preferably be booked 24 hours in advance and are subjected to the approval of the shipping company and the port authorities.

Below you will find an overview of a number of forms:
