American Cop Cars Imported in the UK

Launching today, after completing all the necessary legal requirements, USA Cop Cars Ltd has started bringing used 2008 Ford Crown Victoria law enforcement vehicles into Britain. The cars in question come complete with a raft of US police equipment including spotlights, microphones and detailed recreations of state police liveries.

These are LPG-fueled cars, powered by 4.6-liter Mustang engines and featuring suspension borrowed from Ford’s F150 pick-ups.

Among the special US police-spec features included on USA Cop Cars imports are: handheld microphone system, hand-operated, spotlight, Kevlar-plated, stab-proof front seats, roof lights (constant yellow rather than flashing red/blue) and siren, and pursuit tires. However, the vomit-resistant rear upholstery sounds the most convincing.

The cars will be sold in the UK for around £23,000 each, and Warranty Direct will offer buyers a bespoke warranty cover starting at £47.50 a month. Running on LPG fuel, the cars can be taxed for around £200 and insured for approximately £500.

“You don’t need to be a fan of Americana to own one,” explained USA Cop Cars owner, Mr. Groves. “It’s very safe, it’s the only car in America that can withstand a rear impact at more than 70mph and parts will be readily available should you need to replace anything. The cars are iconic thanks to the movie world and, when you drive around in one, there’s an enormous sense of goodwill from other road users.”

The imports undergo rigorous testing, with VOSA testing 54 different areas of the car to prove roadworthiness. The cars also come with original police manuals and Ford delivery labeling.

USA Cop Cars hopes to expand the range of imports to include the Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and Dodge Charger in coming months.
