First Appearence:Mortal Kombat

Pre-Mortal Kombat[edit]

Goro is the younger so of the King of a subterrainian race known as Shokan, a half-human, half-dragon, with four arms. In order to become the heir to rule the Shokan, Goro must challenge his older brother Dorack, to Mortal Kombat. Goro defeats his brother and becomes his father Gorback's heir to the Shokan throne. When Goro came of age, he ventured to the surface of Outworld, and with his great stregnth, he was named general of all of Shao Kahn's Armies Then, as the Outworld came close to merging with Earthrealm and the Mortal Kombat tournaments between the 2 realms began, Goro competed and was successful for his strength and size compared to the warriors of Earthrealm, Goro would face the tournament's champion Kung Lao, Goro defeats Kung Lao as the new grandmaster, Shang Tsung consumes the Shaolin Monk's soul. Goro would remain the champion and even undefeated through 9 Mortal Kombat tournaments, but a new generation of warriors will come and try to knock Goro from the top.

Mortal Kombat[edit]

Goro had competed in the 10th generation Mortal Kombat tournament. Though, he did fight and defeat many of the Earthrealm warriors, but he would soon face Liu Kang who is a decendant of Kung Lao. Despite Goro's size and strength advantage, he was defeated by Liu Kang, Goro's first defeat in 500 years. While Liu Kang goes on to fight Shang Tsung, Goro fought against Kano, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, he was defeated once again and then disappeared. A few weeks after the tournament, rumors went out to Outworld that Goro was apparently dead. Making Shang Tsung face execution for his apparent death and his failure to take Earthrealm through Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat 4[edit]

It would be a few years until Goro would return from his apparent death. Instead, he had been missing. But he would fight for only one purpose, act revenge on Liu Kang, the Earthrealm warrior who defeated him in the previous tournament. But, he would be defeated again by the Shaolin Monk. After his defeat to Liu Kang, Goro went back to Outworld to lead his fellow Shokan armies against the Centaurians, and as the Earthrealm warriors defeat the fallen Elder God Shinnok his forces defeated the Centaurians, and formed an alliance with the forces of Edenia and their leader Kitana.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance[edit]

Though, Goro did not fight for or against the newly created Deadly Alliance, but in an event which was overshadowed by the events of the Deadly Alliance. He would lead his Shokan forces again to take over Outworld as Shao Kahn was eliminated by the Deadly Alliance. But he fought the mysterious ninja warrior named Noob Saibot and was stabbed in the back by the warrior. Though he had died, but as Shang Tsung was killed unintentiaonally by Raiden, Shao Kahn was re-animated and with his re-gained magic, Kahn re-animated Goro as well. Because of this, Goro grants Shao Kahn his servitude as Kahn would promise to restore the glory of his Shokan race and maintain the defeat of the Centaurians.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon[edit]

As the rest of the warriors from the Realms begin to fight one another for the Elder Gods' power which was bestowed upon Blaze, Goro remained on Shao kahn's side and to guard his palace. But he was encountered by Taven the son of the Edenian Elder God, Argus. Taven was searching for the scorcerer, Quan Chi. But Goro challenges Taven to Mortal Kombat and lost, and Taven went on to defeat Blaze and receive the power of the Elder Gods.
