Ok so Beet is a way more obvious coconut octopus because he’s in the typical color range of one IRL. i’m not really doing anything special with them aside from carrying over the same traits from the humanoid form that stand out in a coconut octopus into the swim form, but the coconut octopus also has a pretty distinct curled-tentacle position that they’re known for (if you google image search it you’ll know what i mean.)

Engel has much shorter hair tentacles so he’s not very useful for the demonstration but he’s here as some sort of lighter colored sample I guess.

Anyway, instead of just copying how i’m doing my swim forms, my better recommendation would be just looking up images of the coconut octopus and seeing the different color patterns and shapes they have and trying to add those traits to the typical octoling swim form
