One major design flaw - it leaks

March 10, 2024Had this bottle for c. two-three years - the bottle is great, great design, size, large hoop to clip the bottle when climbing on multipitches. I loved it so much, I even bought two!
However, in my opinion there is one job that a water bottle needs to do, which is hold water and not leak. The small "mouth" screw cap got damaged on both bottles!!
If I tighten the cap, it, the threads seem to click, and the small mouth remains open.
So I have two options, tighten the screw cap, and the top of the cap is unlocked, and the bottle leaks.
Do not tighten it enough, and loosely tighten the top small cap, and the bottle doesn't leak if kept upright. But if i put it in my pack, the cap loosens with vibrations, and the bottle leaks.
The short of it:
Great size, Great design - on major flaw - the bottle leaks.
I think this is a design flaw, as it happened to BOTH bottles

April 28, 2024we bought this for our daughter about a year ago. She loves it. it's easy to carry, easy to drink from, etc. But she's not the one that cleans it. Because of the design with the internal threads, the cap for the drinking spout is really difficult to keep clean because the space between the threads and wall of the cap is so narrow that nothing fits very well. A carefully folded paper towel with soap and water and/or vinegar gets most of it. Most of it. The gaskets are pretty much impossible to remove without damaging them, which means water and debris get in behind there and create mold. I personally hate this water bottle for that reason. But, you know, my daughter likes it so...

February 6, 2024I've been through MANY water bottes over my 20+ years as an REI member. Most have not lasted very long. I love that this has a small drinking spout that doesn't splash my face, but when unscrewed, the wide mouth easily allows for the addition of powders etc. and makes for easy cleaning. I also LOVE the magnet that keeps the screw top from hitting me in the face when I raise the bottle to drink. The plastic extension on the lid allows me to easily clip this onto a carabiner. I also appreciate that this fits easily into most backpack bottle pockets and many (but not all) cup holders in vehicles. Have hand washed and dish-washered many times and it still keeps on working, so I bought a spare to use in multiple places.

May 1, 2023My 4th grader loves this style. This is her second one. The 20 oz is the perfect size for her.
She got the first one in the fall (about 6 months ago). The 20oz fits nicely in a school backpack water bottle pocket without falling out when she moves like a lot of taller or insulated water bottles.
It is very lightweight. It has been dropped and does not leak yet. They go to school daily, to Cub Scout activities, and anywhere else she feel like she needs to bring a water bottle. So far they are holding up well.
We’ve had several camelback water bottles over the years. This lid style works great. I love that it doesn’t have a straw. I put the bottles (not lids) in the dishwasher - no shrinkage, warping or deterioration so far. The colors are vibrant.
I do wish that it had the clip on the handle as a lid option. We had a few camelbak bottles many years ago that had the clip on the lid handle, it made it even harder to lose. While the 20 and 24 oz bottles fit nicely into water bottle pockets and cup holders, the 32 oz has a wider bottom that does not fit car, backpack, or chair cup holders and is just awkward to tote daily unless you have a carabiner attached to every bag of everyone in the family who might use it.
