EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal's summer rebuilding plans revealed with Arsene Wenger almost certain to pen two-year contract extension

The Frenchman has faced calls from fans to quit over recent months but there is a growing belief that he will stay

Wenger faces the press after narrow win over Middlesbrough

Arsenal have already begun their rebuilding plans for next season - and are making it clear Arsene Wenger will be in charge.

The Gunners boss is expected to sign a two-year contract and oversee a major squad overhaul which will see a raft of incomings and outgoings.

Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac has been offered a four-year contract and Arsenal are confident of beating AC Milan to his signature.

That will almost certainly spell the end for 31-year-old left-back Nacho Monreal who is set to return to Spain.

Arsenal are offering Kieran Gibbs a new deal but if he decides to go then they are also in the market for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and have looked at Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

They have also opened talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere as both England internationals are out of contract in 14 months’ time.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is a target for Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United but his issue will surround whether he gets game time at Arsenal.

Wilshere will be offered a new deal but he is not convinced he will be in Arsenal’s long-term plans and it may be they are looking to protect their asset.
