The outcome of MCD polls hold significance as it could impact the political equations in Delhi and sent shockwaves across the political circles. AAP, which won the 2015 assembly elections with a landslide mandate, could suffer a massive setback if it fails to win the upcoming civic elections.

On the other hand, BJP, which has been ruling the MCD for past 15 years, would aim to return to power for the fourth time. The party would also aim to bounce back after the dismal performance in Delhi assembly elections, when the party was reduced to merely 3 seats.

Congress, which was wiped out of Delhi assembly, would aim to mark a comeback by staging a strong performance in the MCD elections.
