The motorcycle might also get ABS as an optional safety feature.

TVS has been testing its upcoming motorcycle, the Akula 310 for quite some time now. The camouflaged motorcycle is being regularly spotted around the TVS manufacturing unit in Hosur. It is a fully faired motorcycle and features a big vertically oriented display unit. It is based on the BMW G310 R and was also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Akula 310 concept bike was first showcased as a racing bike but the production model will be slightly different. The bike will get a split seat and a split headlamp -- both were missing on the race spec model. The inverted front forks might also be replaced with conventional ones to cut down on costs.

The motorcycle might use the same engine that powers the BMW G310 R. It is a 313cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder motor which makes 34PS power at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle might also get ABS as an optional safety feature.

Once launched, the Akula 310 will face competition from already established motorcycles, including the Yamaha R3, KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
