Koulibaly, 26, has been integral to Maurizio Sarri's team over the last three seasons since joining from Belgian club Genk for just £7m.

This has won him plenty of wealthy admirers, with Real, Chelsea and United all looking to strengthen their defences this summer.

Sarri has also been linked with the manager's job at Chelsea, and could look to bring Koulibaly with him to Stamford Bridge.

RAI Sport report that Sarri met with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis on Thursday, where one of the topics on discussion was Koulibaly's future.

If Napoli get their asking price for Koulibaly, it would make him the most expensive defender ever, easily outstripping the £75m Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk.

He would be the third most expensive signing ever, behind PSG's £198m acquisition of Neymar and Barcelona's £145m deal for Philippe Coutinho.
