Amaravati: A pastor in Andhra Pradesh has landed in a soup after his controversial comments went viral on social media.

In the video, Bible Open University International (BOUI) Deputy Director Pastor Santhosh Kumar can be heard demanding division of India into two parts and seeking one part for Christians alone.

"Under the leadership of our beloved leader Mr PD Sundara Rao, we, on behalf of All India True Christian Council (AITCC) demand that India should be split into two and one half should be given to Christians as a separate country," he says in the video.

"We will not bother you then," said the Pastor further. The video was shared on August 24.

The shocking video was posted by SC ST Rights Forum, an advocacy group that works to safeguard the rights of SC/STs on its Twitter handle.

Pastor Kumar is reportedly also the state president of AITCC for Telangana and Maharashtra.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that a Kerala Bishop has warned Christian families about "various groups" allegedly trying to trap girls and women belonging to the community. He also issued a circular in this regard on Saturday, August 28.

Bishop Joseph Kallangarat of Syro Malabar Catholic Church, Pala diocese elaborated on how certain groups have been trying to entrap young women of the Christian community by befriending them through phone calls.
