New Delhi: The unfolding chaotic and dystopian picture painted by Afghanistan on the world map has sent chills down the spine of people who are watching a horror story unfold on the women, children and men of the Central Asian country.

The Taliban brought down the Ashraf Ghani government on August 15, marking an emphatic return to power in the war-torn country after a gap of 20 years ever since the United States intervened following the 11 September 2001 terror attacks.

Now, with the Taliban declaring the country as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, a lot of analysis is going into how the terrorist organisation managed to emerge from hiding with such a force and such a short span of time after the US and NATO announced withdrawal of troops.

Shockingly, an intelligence report accessed by Nikunj Garg of Times Now found that the alleged Pakistan-sponsored terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) supply cadre to the Taliban for training them to wage terror in Afghanistan and Kashmir.

What did the intel reveal?

Threat 1: Pakistan relocating training camps of JeM and LeT to Afghanistan

Threat 2: Islamic State of Khorasan Province cadre to be used to eliminate Taliban who might oppose the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s spy agency

Threat 3: Bid to incorporate terrorists under integrated command of LeT and JeM

Threat 4: Pakistan-based ISI operatives running LeT and JeM networks, and assisting the Taliban

Threat 5: Pakistani terror groups providing trained cadre to assist the Taliban

Threat 6: Lashkar bosses Hafiz Saeed and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi collecting funds for operations in Afghanistan and Kashmir

Threat 7: Lashkar involvement in Afghanistan resonates with its jihadist rhetoric

Interestingly, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed yesterday gloated that “no country can ignore” them as they convinced the Taliban to hold dialogues with the United States.

“Pakistan’s efforts for the peace process in Afghanistan would be remembered for long. No country can ignore Pakistan as it has played a significant role in bringing the US and Taliban to the negotiating table,” Ahmed reportedly said, adding that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had even tried to convince Afghan President in exile Ashraf Ghani to hold talks with the Taliban, but the latter was not prepared for that.
