LG will introduce a redesigned flagship phone in June, codenamed Judy, reports Venture Beat. LG has previously said it would depart from its predictable smartphone launch cycle, with this June rumor marking a notable change. LG traditionally launches its G-series phones in the first half of the year, followed by its V-series in the second half.

According to Evan Blass, the notable leaker who wrote the VB story, LG’s new flagship phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, 64GB of internal storage, 4GB of RAM, stereo “boombox” speakers, wireless charging, and water, dust, and impact resistance.

The HDR screen on Judy will reportedly measure a large 6.1 inches with an 18:9 Full Vision display. That would make it bigger than LG’s G6 phone, which has a 5.7 inch screen, though Blass notes the new device won’t be called the G7.

VB is also reporting that LG will implement an MLCD+ panel for the new phone’s display, which is able to hit a max 800-nit brightness while using 35 percent less power than standard IPS panels. (Nit is a measurement of brightness. A 300 nit monitor for example, has the light power of 300 candles that lights a space of one square meter.) Apple says the iPhone X, for instance, measures 625 nits.

The new Judy phone will also reportedly feature dual cameras with 16 megapixel sensors, glass optical elements, and f/1.6 lenses. The phone’s camera system will also have AI capabilities, according to Blass. LG said earlier this month that it would be showing off its first suite of AI technologies on an upgraded version of the V30 flagship, reportedly called the V30s, at the big MWC show at the end of February.

VB notes that if this new flagship phone is launched in June, it’s likely the phone won’t be available globally until summer.
