WWE star Paige makes shock return to wrestling as Smackdown Live manager… a day after quitting ring
BRITISH WWE star Paige has been named as Smackdown Live's new general manager, just 24 hours after retiring from competing in the ring.
In a surprising move, Smackdown commissioner announced the 25-year-old would replace Daniel Bryan on Tuesday.
A neck injury suffered in December had forced Paige to end her wrestling career, but has swiftly returned, after her predecessor was released to become a full-time Superstar again.
Having previously had concussion problems, Bryan was given the all-clear to return the ring last month after three years out.
And his replacement Paige has wasted no time in granting him a match against WWE champion AJ Styles.
The Norwich-born wrestler said at the announcement of her new position: "The superstar shake up is next week, so as my first act as general manager I want to make this night truly special for every single one of you.

The Superstar Shake-up will see RAW and Smackdown exchange wrestlers over two days next week, while Bryan is also set to take part in the 50-strong Greatest Royal Rumble match in Saudi Arabia at the end of April, according to the Mirror.
