Olympic triathlon winner Kristian Blummenfelt’s all-white outfit turns see-through leaving viewers in stitches

OLYMPIC triathlon gold medallist Kristian Blummenfelt was left looking like 'Captain Underpants' during his moment of glory.

The Norwegian edged out Team GB star Alex Yee to bag gold overnight in Tokyo.

Blummenfelt's huge exertion in the sweltering heat was there for all to see.

And not just in his pained facial expressions.

The 27-year-old's all-white outfit will go down as a fashion faux pas, after Blummenfelt's natural perspiration turned it see-through.

His dark underpants were left clearly visible, with some fans online unimpressed with the manufacturer's efforts.

Australian TV commentary said: "Can we talk about the Norwegian try suits?

"They're a shocker. Whoever signed them needs to be sacked.

"They are of course, his swimmers under there.

"Superman wears his pants on the outside, they've got it wrong haven't they."

One social media user wrote: "Whoever designed Norway’s triathlon kit for #TokyoOlympics2021 must have been inspired by Captain Underpants(?).

"Amazing finish by Blummenfelt though. Clearly the superhero outfit worked!"

Another commented: "Watching the Triathlon. That Norwegian outfit looks like it's nicked off a stag night. Blummenfelt might win so more fool me."

While a third added: "The Norwegian #Triathlon outfit is very unfortunate. Fair play to Blummenfelt though."

After triumphing in the 27C heat, Blummenfelt sank to the floor not long after crossing the finishing line.

He was then lifted into a wheelchair, though still conscious after the gruelling endurance event.

A member of the medical team was on hand to assess the Olympian.
