Manchester United fans want to see Juan Mata named in attack if Edinson Cavani is unavailable for next Saturday's match against Newcastle United.

United are not back in Premier League action for another week due to the international break but they already know they will be light on attacking options for the visit to St James' Park.

Anthony Martial will miss the match as he starts his three-game suspension following his red card for violent conduct in the 6-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday.

Deadline day arrival Cavani is also expected to miss out on the clash as he will likely still be in isolation following his arrival in the UK. The period of quarantine also means the Uruguayan will be unable to train with his new teammates when they arrive back from international duty and will only be able to link up with the squad just before United's opening Champions League match of the season, against his former club Paris Saint-Germain.

While United are in touch with the government and the Premier League to clarify the exact guidelines for their new arrival, the 33-year-old is in quarantine at the moment, with his final day in self-isolation expected to be the day after the trip to Newcastle, unless United are informed otherwise.

This gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a selection dilemma for the match in who he chooses to join Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood in attack.
