Tandav premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.

BJP leader Ram Kadam has hit out at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan over his recently-released Amazon Prime Video web series, Tandav.

BJP LEADER TARGETS SAIF ALI KHAN'S TANDAV

The BJP leader criticised Saif Ali Khan and said that, yet again, the actor is associated with a series that hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus.

The BJP leader said, "Why are the Hindu gods and goddesses being disrespected through various films and web series. The latest example is the web series Tandav. Saif Ali Khan is yet again a part of such series that hurts Hindu sentiments. Director Ali Abbas Zafar will have to remove the part where Lord Shiva is being made fun of. Actor Zeshan Ayub will have to apologise. And till the time the necessary changes aren't made, BJP will continue to boycott Tandav."

Ram Kadam added that he would be approaching Mumbai police in the matter and registering a complaint. Further to the above sentiments, the BJP leader released a video on social media threatening Bollywood.

Here's what Ram Kadam said in the video: "Why is Bollywood disrespecting Hindu gods and goddesses in their films? This has been going on for a long time. Now in the web series called Tandav, an actor is disrespecting our Lord Shiva by holding the Trishul and Damru in his hands. This will not be allowed. Bollywood should listen carefully. If our feelings and sentiments are hurt like this, and anyone dares to do that then you'll be beaten up with a shoe in the middle of the square. This series has to be boycotted at the earliest, and the director, producer and actor should apologise by kneeling and with folded hands."

Tandav, starring Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kumud Mishra, among others, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.
