The former Hollywood sweethearts are believed to be in contact with one another again.
"They have been friends for a while and often text,” a source close to Brad revealed.
While Jen and Brad divorced in 2005 — after five years of marriage — it seems the pair are not as estranged as people might think.
"This is nothing new, he didn't have to jump through hoops to get Jennifer's number," the source told People.

News of the reunion comes in the midst of Brangelina's messy divorce.
The shock split made headlines last September when it was revealed that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce, citing her decision was made for "the health of the family".
Things soon took a sinister turn when it was reported that Brad had been "verbally and physically abusive" towards the couple's 15-year-old son Maddox.

Both the FBI and US child services investigated the allegations, but no charges were filed.
Following the shocking claims of abuse, Angelina was granted temporary sole physical custody of their six children, with Brad receiving visitation rights.
However, the 53-year-old actor has since filed for joint guardianship.
In January, Brad and Ange broke their silence over the split, issuing a joint statement to the press.
It read: "The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues.
"The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."

A few weeks later, Angelina opened up further about the family’s heartache.
In an interview with BBC, the 41-year-old said: "I don't want to say very much about that [the divorce], except to say it was a very difficult time and we were a family. We will always be a family, we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it.
Becoming visible emotional, she added: "It was very difficult. Many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family have all been through a difficult time.
"My focus is my children, our children. We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
