The University of Delhi will start the DU 2024 admission process in the mid May at the CSAS portal. Delhi University offers admission to undergraduate programmes on the basis of the CUET UG scores. Those students who have appeared for CUET exam need to visit the CSAS portal 2024 (DU admission portal) to register themselves for Delhi University admission. The DU admission process 2024 is conducted over multiple rounds and is based on a combination of factors, including the college and programme chosen, the applicant's position on the DU merit list, any applicable reservation criteria and the availability of seats.

The DU admission will take place in two phases. "Delhi University will start the admissions for undergraduate (UG) courses in the second phase after the CUET-UG examinations are over," PTI quoted Haneet Gandhi, Dean of Admissions, as saying. The DU seat allocation list 2024 will be released for multiple rounds, including the mop up rounds (if the seats remain vacant after normal rounds). What’s new in DU Admission 2024?

DU UG admission 2024 will be based on the CUET UG as an admission channel in 2024. The Delhi University will be taking admission in DU on the basis of their scores in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). DU PG admission is also given through CUET PG scores.

Delhi University Admissions 2024 - Crucial Points You Must Know

The University of Delhi released the DU application form 2024 at DU CSAS admission portal 2024 on June 14, 2024.

The admission authorities of Delhi University will conduct three rounds of counselling for DU colleges admission.

Admission to 50% of the PG seats are offered via DUET, while the remaining 50% is through the qualifying scores/marks of the already enrolled Delhi University students of UG courses.

Some DU colleges offer up to 3% relaxation in DU cut off marks if candidates have a certain percentage in the qualifying exam. For instance, candidates with 60% or above percentage in math in the qualifying exam are given 3% relaxation in cut off marks.

Admissions through DU NCWEB 2024 will be offered at 32,000 seats.

Delhi Admissions 2024 – Seats and Admission Channels

There is only one channel for entering Delhi University and its affiliated colleges – entrance based (which is called the Common University Entrance Test or CUET). Delhi University courses are offered through the CUET entrance test 2024 and the DU merit list will be prepared on the basis of CUET scores. It is mandatory for the candidates to appear in one language test, out of Section 1A and Section 1B. The candidates can appear for the General test for BA programme admissions.

The existing DU best of four marks at the University of Delhi has been replaced by scores of CUET 2024 for DU university admission 2024. Precisely, around 70,000 UG seats will be on offer in 2024 for Delhi University admission. However, as there are revisions in seats every year. This number is expected to change a little. Furthermore, 3291 ECA+Sports category seats will be on offer (an alternative mode of admission) for candidates with an excellent record in extracurricular activities and sports across DU colleges.

DU Admission Eligibility Criteria 2024

The University of Delhi will set some basic conditions based on which students are shortlisted or considered eligible for applying for DU admission 2024. The eligibility criteria for Delhi University define the minimum qualification a candidate is required to process in order to apply for DU admission. Though many of the DU colleges have varied eligibility for the admission seeking candidates, there are some basic requirements that are common for all. The DU eligibility criteria has been listed in the tables below as per the programmes, departments, and admission modes. By having an idea about the DU 2024 eligibility criteria, the aspiring students will get to know whether they are eligible to apply for DU 2024 admissions or not. B.A. (Hons.) Hindi

  • An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

  • Applicants securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in the subject concerned are also eligible for admission to the relevant Honours Course.

  • The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best academic/elective subjects. The applicant must have studied and passed Hindi in the qualifying exam and should include Hindi for calculation of ‘Best Four’ percentage.

  • Applicants who have passed the intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board with at least 40% marks in the aggregate and also “Prabhakar in Hindi” shall be eligible for admission.

DU Registration 2024

The Delhi University will start the DU 2024 registration process for UG programmes in mid May at the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. What is DU CSAS portal ?

The Delhi University admission portal is called the DU CSAS portal. The Common Seat Allocation System, or CSAS, involves three registration phases. The DU CSAS 2024 portal is used to fill out admission forms for all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Candidates can find the DU CSAS 2024 portal at ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Applying to CSAS 2024, choosing the programmes, and seat allocation are the three main steps of the DU Admission portal, which is part of the CSAS system. Students must register and choose their favorite programmes in order to be admitted to Delhi University's UG courses such as BA, BSc (Hons), BCom (Hons), and more.

Candidates can select their preferred colleges and programmes after the announcement of CUET UG 2024 result. DU 2024 Admission PG

Admission to postgraduate programmes at DU will be obtained in the faculties and departments of the arts, commerce, science, and other fields. At Delhi University, the most popular PG programmes are MA, M.Com, and M.Sc. The primary requirement for PG admission at DU is the possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. CUET PG scores are used to determine DU admission to PG programmes at Delhi University in 2024. Before applying to DU PG admissions candidates have to check thr DU PG eligibility criteria. DU PG selection 2024 will be based on the CUET PG 2024 scores.

DU Admission 2024 Ph.D

The institution provides a Ph.D course in a variety of specialisations in addition to different UG and PG courses. The NTA will conduct the common PhD entrance test for admission to DU, BHU, and JNU. Candidates must have earned a master's degree with a minimum of 55% in order to be admitted to the Ph.D. programme. The minimum eligibility standard for admission to Ph.D. programmes is relaxed by 5% for candidates who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), and Persons with Physical Disability (PwD). For all applicants to the Ph.D. programmes, online registration is required.

Programme-specific merit scores will be calculated by the university according to eligibility criteria, and candidates must confirm their scores before making preferences. Now, let's say they want to apply in B.A Political Science, according to DU eligibility criteria they must have anyone language from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 +Anyone subject from either List B1 or List B2, hence subjects for candidate A is Hindi, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and for candidate B the subjects is English, Physical Education, History, Sociology. Now candidates can add the CUET normalised score of each subject.

DU CSAS Cut-off 2024

The University of Delhi will release the DU UG cutoff 2024 in August. After the announcement of CUET result, candidates have to fill and submit the DU CSAS choice filling form. Make a note that initially, the Delhi University colleges releases the DU cut off on their respective websites and later on the consolidated DU 2024 cutoffs will be released by the University of Delhi for BA, B.Com and BSc. streams according to the CUET scores. DU Merit List 2024

The Delhi University will publish the DU UG merit list 2024 in August in online mode. Delhi University will release all the DU 2024 merit lists based on the CUET exam result. The DU merit list 2024 will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in CUET 2024 in a particular subject combination. Candidates whose names appear in the DU merit list are eligible for DU Admission . The DU merit list for the UR category seats comprises all candidates in order of merit.

DU Seat Allotment 2024

The University of Delhi will release the DU 2024 seat allotment list in online mode. Once the seat is approved in the DU seat allotment, candidates have to pay the admission fee to confirm their seat at Delhi University. Candidates have to visit the official website of DU CSAS. And login using the application number and password. Thereafter, accept the provisionally allotted seat. In the event of no activity on the allotted seat, DU will decline the provisional allotted seat and the candidate will not be allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds as well.

ECA and Sports Quota DU Admissions 2024

As part of its merit-based admission policy, the University of Delhi offers admissions to its ECA and Sports quotas. Courses that are offered through entrance examinations are not eligible for ECA and Sports quota seats. Delhi University policy requires each college to reserve 1 to 5% of its total seats for ECA and sports. In any case, the number of seats reserved for ECA and sports quota cannot exceed 5% of the total seats, depending on the college's sports facilities.

What is required for ECA and Sports quota seats admissions is trials and certificate verification. Candidates are required to upload their ECA/Sports certificates on the DU admission portal. Furthermore, they have to pay Rs. 100 as additional fee online.

DU Admission 2024 ECA Guidelines

  • Candidates can apply for a maximum of three ECA categories

  • 15 percent concession given to the ECA category in the DU cutoff

  • For the ECA category, two levels of trials are done: preliminary and final

  • Candidates are shortlisted for the final trials based on the preliminary trials

  • Only candidates who qualify for the final round will have their certificates evaluated by the ECA Admission Committee.

  • Merit lists will be prepared based on final trials (75% weightage) and certificate evaluation (25% weightage).

  • Applicants must score at least 50% in the final trials (38 out of 75) to be considered for the final merit list.

9. Once I have taken DU admission in a particular subject, can I change my subject during the course of study or after completing first year?

Yes, the provision of changing the subject is there, however, it can only be done before the last date of DU 2023 admission. 

But only if you meet the requisite cutoffs and seats are available in that subject/course. You can’t change your subject during the course of study or after completing the first year of your study.

10. I appeared in the Class XII exam last year but failed to clear Mathematics. Then, I appeared in the compartment exam and cleared it. Now, I have two marksheets, can I get admission in DU?

Yes, you are eligible for DU UG admissions, but only if your compartment result is declared before the admission process is completed and seats are available. Also, you are needed to update the DU online registration form by filling your latest marks, possibly till the end of admissions, while the registration portal is open.

11. How to get admission in DU?
