Till now, Goa has only one international airport, located in Dabolim. The Dabolim International Airport is one of the busiest airports in India, thanks to the number of tourists heading to Goa at any given season. The airport is shared with the Indian Navy, and because of this, there are several rules in place. Private carriers not allowed to fly for four hours every morning is an example.
After January 5, some of the flights, which are already booked, are expected to shift to the new airport. So travellers are advised to keep an eye on any notifications from the concerned airlines.
Manohar Parrikar International Airport is located in Mopa village in Pernem. Mopa is just 43 km (one hour) from the capital city of Panjim.
