In a severe jolt for the leftist-liberal and the ‘tukde-tukde’ gang within the JNU, the JNU VC Jagadesh Kumar has confirmed that the university will be observing the ‘Surgical Strike’ day on September 29. He also said, “We’ll be celebrating in JNU. JNU is very closely related to the defence forces. When our alumni go and fight for us at the borders, as a University, we must recognise their contribution.” Earlier, the UGC had issued a circular asking the universities to observe September 29 as ‘Surgical Strike’ day and encourage students to pledge their support for the armed forces. The NCC units of all universities were also asked to hold a special parade to mark the day.

This comes after HRD minister Prakash Javadekar made it clear that the UGC circular for observing ‘Surgical Strike’ day within the Indian universities is not mandatory and that it is upto the universities to decide if they want to observe it on September 29. He also refuted the opposition charge that the BJP was politicising the armed forces. He said, “We never mandate anything, we suggest and issue advisory. There is no politics, it is only patriotism. On September 29 (anniversary of the surgical strike), we have asked colleges, those who want to, can arrange a lecture by ex-army officers who can tell the students how defence forces defend the country and how the surgical strike was conducted.” Therefore, it is clear that nothing has been forced on the JNU or any other university. JNU VC has taken this decision out of his own volition.

This must have come as a huge shock for the anti-national elements who have been desperately trying to peddle their obnoxious narrative from the JNU campus. These elements have continued their anti India propaganda even after a massive controversy erupted in 2016 when an anti national event was held in the campus on Afzal Guru’s death anniversary. In fact, in 2017 a similar event was held on Afzal Guru’s death anniversary in which pro separatist and anti national slogans were raised. The pro separatist and “Azadi” gang within the university who idolise the likes of Burhan Wani and Afzal Guru will now be made to celebrate Indian Army’s exploits. In fact, the anti national group within the JNU does not only indulge in anti-India propaganda but consistently tries to defame and malign the Indian Army. Kanhaiya Kumar who eptiomises everything that is wrong with the “Azadi” gang within the JNU campus had gone on to state that Indian security personnel rape women in Kashmir. He made this shameful generalisation without any proof to back his claims. This goes on to show the extent of hatred towards the Indian Army and other security forces in the minds of anti social and anti national elements active within the JNU campus.

It is ironical that the “Azadi” gang which is desperate to get India balkanized and spews venom against Indian Army, will be celebrating an event that marks India’s integrity, territorial sovereignty and most importantly the Indian Army’s valor. This is a historic event as far as the JNU is concerned. It is clearly the triumph of nationalism and patriotism over the ideologies of urban naxalism and separatism. The anti-national elements within the JNU have been squarely defeated.
