The signing of the Brazilian is sure to strengthen the squad of Bashundhara Kings as they look to retain their league title.

On Wednesday, the winners of the 18-19 Bangladesh Premier League, Bashundhara Kings announced the signing Brazilian winger Robinho on loan from Fluminense. The 25-year-old joins after a recent loan move at Agua Santa where he scored two goals from eight appearances. The signing of the Brazilian is sure to strengthen the squad of Bashundhara Kings as they look to retain their league title. The Kings sat sixth on the table when the league was abandoned and the addition of Robinho could propel them to the top of the league table next season.

The New Man

Robson Azevedo da Silva, commonly known as Robinho was born on 21 July, 1995 in Sao Caetano do Sul, Brazil.

The winger learnt his trade at Mirassol Futebol Clube who are based in Sao Paulo. He signed his first professional contract with Atibaia, another Sao Paulo based club where he made 37 appearances for them, scoring 10 goals.

He got his big break after an impressive loan spell at Figueirense where he scored seven goals in 18 games. He was subsequently signed by Brazilian giants Fluminense in 2017.

Ready, Set, Go

The signing of Robinho is a big statement of intent from Bashundhara Kings who have a habit of signing South American stars. The Kings also employ Argentine superstar Hernan Barcos.

The Kings were not in good form when the league was abandoned with only three wins from their six games. They also recorded two losses in that same period.

The Kings' attack has been mediocre this season with their tally of 10 goals being the third-best in the league. Robinho is surely to have an impact here as he expected.

The winger, with his explosive pace and mesmerising dribbling, will surely cause headaches for opposition defences.

Another impact that he will likely have is on the financial side of things. The signing of a Brazilian attacker will surely make supporters of the Kings excited and pumped. The Kings could expect a rise in revenue and shirt sales through this ambitious signing.

Conclusion

Robinho will surely want to make himself a legend in the Bangladeshi football scene following in the footsteps of Daniel Colindres and Hernan Barcos.

The Brazilian will look to mesmerise and capture the hearts of Bashundhara Kings fans in Bangladesh and hope to boost Bashundhara's upcoming title bid and AFC Cup campaign.
