In an innovative step, Union railway minister Piyush Goyal has shared his views, saying that saloon should be made available to the people. He is of the view that saloons are the trappings of a colonial mindset and it has no place in modern society. The initiative was taken by the minister and railways may implement for the use and travel of ordinary passengers on commercial terms. At least two saloons earmarked for the Railway Minister will be placed immediately at the disposal of IRCTC for use by common passengers on payment basis.
