Exclusive! Sangita Ghosh to play Jimmy Sheirgill’s wife in Swaran Ghar

A few hours ago, we reported about Jimmy Sheirgill being approached to play the male lead in TV couple Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey’s next show titled Swaran Ghar. While the makers are in talks with the Bollywood actor and are hoping for him to sign on the dotted line soon, we have now learnt that they have roped in Sangita Ghosh to play the protagonist. Seasoned Punjabi actress Nirmal Rishi will play Sangita’s mother-in-law on the show. The daily soap revolves around a couple, who is abandoned by their children.

Informed a source associated with the project, “Sangita has signed the contract and is on board with us for the show. The set of the show is erected in Chandigarh and the shooting will take place there. The show is expected to go on floors next month. We will be shooting a promo for the show soon.”

Sangita will play the character of Swarn and the show is about how parents sacrifice for their children and what they get in return eventually. The lead couple will have three sons.

Both Sangita and Ravi didn’t respond to our calls and text messages.

Sangita, who catapulted to fame as Parminder in Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand and later became a part of shows like Rabba Ishq Na Hove, Viraasat, Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara, was last seen as the antagonist in the supernatural thriller, Divya Drashti. Swaran Ghar will mark her return to TV after two years and Jimmy’s debut on the small screen.
