GHMC polls: Cases against AIMIM's Akbaruddin Owaidi, Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay

HYDERABAD: Suo moto cases were registered against AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay at Hyderabad's SR Nagar police station for allegedly making provocative speeches during the GHMC campaign a few days ago.


SR Nagar police inspector K Saidulu said that both were booked under Section 505 of the IPC.

A few days ago there was a massive political uproar after Akbaruddin asked the government to remove PV Narasimha Rao ghat and NTR ghat near Hussainsagar before removing the encroachments of the poor.

In reaction to Akbaruddin's statement, Sanjay said that if both these ghats are touched, Darusalam, where MIM party office is located, will be targeted.

A couple of days ago, DGP M Mahendar Reddy during press meet said that all provocative speeches made during the campaign are being examined and legal opinion was sought before taking action.
