I wouldn't buy an expensive laptop dock for my smartphone primarily because I change my smartphone every couple of years, whereas my laptops I keep for 5+.

The Razer phone isn't even that great of a phone and hardcore gamers aren't going to be gaming with their phone if they're willing to lug a computer around, right? Because if they are, then they're going to bring their exponentially powerful dedicating gaming laptop for that.

Now if this is something that's going to work on a cloud-cpu computing platform, so you can stream hi-spec games from a wifi connection, that might be a different story.

All is well and good but it will gather dust in a cupboard if i end up actually buying one for the exact same reason my gear vr is gathering dust.. I don't want to remove the phone case every time i want to dock it in.. Even someth6like d brandz have a number of times it can withstand the torture befor it peels off

Great idea, too bad that the phone itself is hot garbage.

If they can get 3rd party involved in making apps and games using both the displays.
This can be the revival of Laptops.
Think about a game where all your characters moves are on the phone display and the
movement is controlled by the buttons on the keyboard.
This can be something really awesome.

It's really great, but the problem is that Apple has a patent on this exact thing.

Reminds me of a twist for Asus's Fonepad's series. too bad it was discontinued. Kudos for Razer for trying to revive it! (and hopefully succeeding!)

Atrix didn't work very well, and was pricey.
If this is ever released,it will be pricey.
It should be perfectly possible for someone to build a dumb phone holder with attached screen for a sensible price, after all,it's only a case for a battery and an ssd or hdd, neither of which are exactly pricey items.
If someone does actually get around to offering one for a decent, popular phone,at a decent fair price, they could have a nice little suprise.
How many do you think Sammy would move if they made one for the note 8 ?
Why lug a lappy etc around when you can use one of these.
Trouble is,a lot of folk would need/want windows software capability, which is a whole different ball game, especially on price..

At first glance I thought it was a bit pointless. However upon further thought I'm thinking this could become quite useful... just need some good ideas to start coming through on innovative ways to apply it.

Sadly, it probably still ahead of it's time. Once phones really start becoming more powerful than our PC's, and can run multiple platforms, I can see this becoming a norm than a novelty.

I am also not sure how effective this concept can be but i really think its should be a great idea if someone can makes a lot of great games for this.
Anyway its a huge step of innoovation instead of watching how apple samsung sony etc copying each other.

If the price is too high it will be better to get a chrombook or regular is proper over 2 pieces. I am not sure how effective this concept can be.
