Huawei Maimang 7 launched in China - Price, specs and more

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has launched a new smartphone -- called the Maimang 7 -- in its home country. The smartphone features the specifications of a typical mid-range smartphone.

The Maimang 7 has been listed at a price of 2,399 CNY (approximately Rs 25,300) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant.

The handset is up for pre-orders on company's official website and will go on sale starting September 15.


Huawei Maimang 7 specifications

Launched in Bright Black, Charm Blue, and Platinum Gold colour options, the Huawei Maimang 7 sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with 2.5D curved glass protection of 1080x2340 pixel resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.


The handset is powered by 12nm Kirin 710 octa-core processor with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and offers 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It offers a microSD card support of up to 256GB with the help of the hybrid microSD card slot.

 

In terms of camera, there is a dual camera setup on both front and back. The dual rear camera setup comprises 20-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash support.
On the front, users get a two camera setup featuring 24-megapixel sensor and another 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.


Backed by a 3750mAh battery with fast charging support, the Huawei Maimang 7 runs Android 8.1 Oreo based on EMUI 8.2 OS. It measures 158.3x75.3x7.6mm and weighs 172 grams.


Huawei Mate 20 launching on October 16

 
The Maimang 7 launch comes almost a month before Huawei is scheduled to launch its flagship Mate 20 smartphone.
Announced at the global technology trade show IFA in Berlin that it will unveil its Huawei Mate 20 series on October 16 at an event in London. The firm has already confirmed that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be powered by the company’s latest Kirin 980 processor, which was also launched at the event. It is the world's first 7nm processor and comes with 5G support as well.
