Delhi: NEET aspirant commits suicide by jumping off 8th floor

New Delhi: Peer pressure on students often result in tragic endings with a recent NEET aspirant committing suicide by jumping off a building in Dwarka hours after NEET results were announced.

According to the Police, 19-year-old Parnav Mehandirata jumped off his apartment’s 8th floor in Dwarka Sector 12 on Monday as soon as the NEET results were out.

Pranav had been appearing for NEET for the past two years but could not clear the entrance.

A senior Police official said the Police received information about the alleged suicide from CGHS Society in Dwarka 12 around 5.15 pm.

“Further Enquiry revealed that deceased was appearing in the NEET exam for the last two years after passing class 12 in the year 2016. Today, the result of NEET was declared in noon and he had failed to qualify the exam,” he said.

The Police also said Pranav had left a suicide note which he confessed to lying about his NEET results to his parents. A dupatta with a knot for hanging was also found from Pranav’s room.

The Police further ruled out any foul play in the suicide case while further investigations in the case are going on said the Police.
