Marcus Rashford reportedly wants to see what Jose Mourinho will do in the upcoming summer transfer window before re-opening contract talks with Manchester United.

The United striker has two years left to run on his current deal and has been in discussions with the club over a fresh contract.

United are desperate to tie Rashford down to a new long-term deal, but the 20-year-old has drastically slipped down the pecking order this season.

Rashford’s position in Mourinho’s squad has promoted the youngester to shelve contract talks until the summer, The Sun claim.

Mourinho is expected to dip into the transfer market again after another disappointing season for the Red Devils.

United have failed to challenge for the Premier League title and were knocked out of the Champions League in the last-16 round.

Rashford is behind Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku and has started just one Premier League game since the start of January.

The England international may re-evaluate his position if Mourinho decides to buy more frontmen, but Rashford wants to stay at Old Trafford.

Rashford came through United’s youth ranks and burst onto the scene in the dying stages of Louis van Gaal’s reign.

But, the goalscorer has seen his game-time significantly drop off since the arrival of Mourinho and may be forced to seriously consider his options this summer.
