Rakhi Sawant had been a part of Nach Baliye season 3. She was seen along with her boyfriend, Abhishek Awasthi. They reached the finale but lost to Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh. Soon, after that Rakhi and Abhishek had an ugly break up.
Abhishek later married Ankita Goswami, a chef by profession, in 2018. He had a dance studio in Dubai which shut down abruptly due to the pandemic. With that, his marriage of four years with his wife also ended. He went through some challenging times personally and professionally.

Abhishek and Ankita have been living separately since two and a half years. They will be filing for divorce soon. Speaking to Etimes, Abhishek said that his life turned upside down after his dance studio in Dubai shut down. He shared that when finances take a hit, it affects personal life first.

He shared that he wasn’t in a good space emotionally and small issues would snowball into ugly altercations. He said, "During difficult times, you react to issues differently. Every couple goes through a rough patch but how you wade through it depends on their compatibility, understanding, and support. So, yes, my marriage became a casualty of misunderstandings and incompatibility."
However, Abhishek and Ankita continue to be cordial and support each other in times of need. He said that Ankita is a wonderful companion. However, with time, especially during the pandemic, they realised they aren't compatible. Abhishek mentioned that they tried to save their marriage by giving each other space, but it wasn’t enough.
"I never thought that I would separate from my wife and that our beautiful relationship will culminate into separation. Neither of us is wrong, it’s just the time and circumstances. Ankita and I deliberated for months before parting ways mutually, "he added.
