During the Phase-I Training (i.e.for a period of Six Months), they will be given theory inputs and undergo the fieldtraining on rotational basis at different mines & departments for learning all theactivities. In Phase-II, on-the-job training is given.5.2.2 At the end of each Phase, Departmental Test is conducted. This includes writtentest, viva and assessment reports given by the Heads of the Departments. Aftersuccessful completion in Phase-II test, they will be regularised and posted todifferent Mines/Depts., as per the vacancy position.


5.2.3 Training will be imparted to the Welfare Officer Trainees for two years andDepartmental Test will be conducted every six months in four Phases i.e., Phase-I,II, III & IV. Details are shownin Annexure-VIII.


8.0 Advanced Management Programme for senior executives:An In-house Advanced Management Training Programme (AMP) for Senior Executives isbeing conducted regularly every year at Nargundkar Institute of Management (NIM), RGfor developing managerial skills to meet the future challenges of our organization andthey are also assigned with project work during the period of programme on differentchallenging topics. Reputed guest faculty are being invited from Hyderabad. This year(2006-07), <strong>one</strong> programmes i.e., AMP-09 was organised at NIM/RG-II and twenty (20)senior executives from different disciplines have participated and the details are given inAnnexure-IX. Some sessions were conducted at Indian Institute of Management (IIM),Lucknow. Visits were arranged to the following institutions and world-class industriesduring the programme.i) Banaras Hindu University, (BHU), Varanasiii) M/s. Hindalco, Renusagariii) M/s. Hindalco Power Station at Renukoot.iv) M/s. Northern Coal Fields, Singrauli.9.0 Workshops & Seminars:These programmes are being organised with a duration of <strong>one</strong>/two days on somespecific topics by inviting expert faculty from other institutions and as well as internalfaculty for improving the knowledge of executives/supervisors of all disciplines withregard to latest developments in the respective fields for improving the productionand productivity.Seven (07) Workshops/Seminars were conducted in 2006-07 and the details aregiven in Annexure-X.10.0 Foreign Training Programmes:For 14 programmes, a total of Thirty seven (37) Executives and Five (5) NCWAemployees were sponsored to other countries (South Africa, UK, China, Germany,Japan, Sweden and USA during 2006-07) to attend International Conferences,Exhibitions, Short Term Courses and Technical visits connected to the MiningIndustry. Details are given in Annexure-XI.11.0 Computer Training Programmes:11.1 Basic Computer Training was imparted to the executives & non-executives in thefollowing subjects.a) Fundamentals of computers.b) MS-DOSc) MS Office-2000.d) Internet & e-mails.11.2 CGMs and GMs of Areas were delegated powers to impart the above training to theirexecutives and staff by engaging local institutes. HRD department has organised theabove training to the employees of corporate offices by engaging local institutes.11.3 Apart from the above, advanced training on Maintenance of Servers & Auto Cad weregiven to FMMC holders, Civil Engineers, Executives of IT, Exploration and Surveydisciplines in 2006-07. Details are given in Annexure-XII.12.0 Mass Education Campaign on Health & Nutrition


12.1 Dr.Bakhtiar Choudhary, Apollo Hospitals, Hyd, conducted 3-day programme onComprehensive Health and fitness for various categories of employees. 73 Executivesand 78 Non-executives attended the programmes.Details are given in Annexure-XIII.i) Comprehensive fitness and positive life for Senior Executives.ii) Comprehensive fitness and positive life for Supervisors and clerks.12.2 As a part of Mass Education campaign on Health, Dr.D.Raghunatha Rao, SeniorResearch Officer, National institute of nutrition (NIN) conducted awarenessprogrammes on Health & Nutrition covering 84 Executives, 50 Non-Executives and646 Family Members of our employees.13.0 ACTIVITIES OF NARGUNDKAR INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (NIM) RG-II.Fourty five (45) Programmes were conducted in 240 days at NIM/RG-II in 2006-07.Details of the programmes are given in Annexure-XIV.14.0 ACTIVITIES AT CORPORATE TRAINING CENTRE (CTC) NO.3 INCLINE, KGM.14.1) Twelve (12) programmes were conducted at CTC, No.3 Incline, KGM for 306 daysand 149 executives have attended. Details aregiven in Annexure-XVIII.18.0) COACHING CLASSES FOR STATUTORY EXAMINATIONS:Coaching Classes were arranged at all MVTCs for Statutory examinations for those appearing for First ClassMine Managers certificates (FMMC), Second Class Mine Manager’s Certificate (SMMC), Overmen, MiningSirdars and Shot Firers, Some retired executives and supervisors of Mining discipline were engaged to givecoaching to the employees appearing for the above examinations at all MVTCs and they were paid honorariumfor each class. In case of Shot firers and Mining Sirdars, this coaching was taken up by respective MVTCs andinternal faculty of the areas.19.0) SUMMER TRAINING FOR STUDENTS (VOCATIONAL) :19.1 We have provided the Vocational/Practical training & Project work facilities to thestudents of Mining (Degree & Diploma) and for other disciplines of variousinstitutions of all over India during the year 2006-07, which are shown below.Details are given in Annexure- XIX.

CRP/HRD/183/2587 Dated.14-08-2003)2.08 Co-ordination for ISO certification of PK OC-II Mines, Base Workshop, andKondapuram Coal Handling Plant, Manuguru for implementation of ISO9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999.2.09 Training Data base was given to all HODs in the form of CD. (For executivecadre)2.10 In-Response to our request, the Government of AP has permitted to start astudy centre at MVTC, RG-I vide G.O. Rt. No.135, HE(TII), Dept, dated 01-03-05 for our employees to do Diploma from the academic year 2005-06 onCorrespondence/ contact basis in Mechanical and Electrical & ElectronicsEngineering.2.11 MVTC,SRP stood first among all MVTC in our Company during the safetyweek celebrations and became a role model for other MVTCs.


2.12 A book titled ‘Fillingulo Mundadugu’ (A step forward in coal filling) containingthe particulars of Coal Fillers (Maha Fillers) who filled 500 and above tubsduring 2003-04, which was prepared for the first time in the company inrecognition of ‘excellence in filling’ and to motivate the fillers was released on26-01-2005 by our C & MD. The copies of the booklet were given free of costto all the filling gangs in the company.2.13 Hyderabad Management Association awarded “Best personnel ManagerAward” for 2003-04 to GM (HRD) for HRD work.2.14 The “Stress Audit” is d<strong>one</strong> by some organizations, where the executives andsupervisors are subjected to mental stress apart from physical stress. Inorder to manage the stress among the under managers, Asst. Engineers andsupervisors etc., a pilot study was taken up on the above subject for the firsttime in our company by consultant, Dr.MCR HRD institute of A.P, Hyderabadat Manuguru. After getting the feed- back from Manuguru, similar study wastaken up at RG and BPA Regions.2.15 “Coal Cutters” guide in telugu titled “coal cutter Swabhodhini” was Publishedand was released on 04-12-2004.2.16 For encouraging the Singarenians to make their quarters more Eco-friendly,Griha Shobha awards (I,II & III) were given to the houses of the Ecofriendlyhouses at area level and company level on the occasion of “SingareniDay”.2.17 A policy on study tour to Navratna Companies by <strong>SCCL</strong> employees has beenformulated members of safety committees/Mines committees and otheremployees along with two (2) executives visit the navartna companies tostudy the best practices.

ANNEXURE – XXX-ATHE SINGARENI COLLIERIES COMPANY LIMITEDTECHNICAL TRAINING CENTREFOR OPEN CAST PROJECTS Established on 6 th December 1984 to cater the needs and to meet theactual requirements of trained personnel for operation andmaintenance of HEMM in Open cast projects. The main object is to train and provide skilled man power to all OCPsof <strong>SCCL</strong>. Playing a key role in boosting of the production, productivity andsafety consciousness of OC projects. Conducting different types of courses like Fresher, Refresher,Change of job, Orientation training, First - Aid and Fire Fighting etc. Imparting training on maintenance and safe operational procedures ofall HEMMs For training, it is equipped with different types of cut models, subassemblies etc. A library contains about 500 technical manuals on HEMMs and othertechnical books for the use of trainees and OC personnel It also organizes training programs of original equipmentsManufacturers for the Executives and Supervisory staff working inOC projects to enhance the skills on sophisticated and costlyequipment. Fully equipped with Mechanical and Electrical workshops forimparting practical orientated training to the tradesmen. HEMM Familiarization training for OC Operational Staff (newentrants) is also regularly being conducted in view of providing basictechnical knowledge on HEMM.
