12 outfits that showcase Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s classic wedding guest style 

Elegant whites, timeless silhouettes and impeccable craftsmanship—no one does the classics quite like Shweta Bachchan Nanda. We’ve been privy to her Indian wear picks while attending weddings for years now, and no matter what her outfit of choice—lehenga, sari or sharara—you can always expect her to be immaculately dressed.

Indeed, if there’s one thing that stands out in Bachchan Nanda’s aesthetic, it’s her love for white, and her long-standing association with designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla. Perhaps the biggest marker of both these influences in her style has been her own wedding look. Defying convention, she opted for an exquisite white chikankari ensemble by the duo that featured real silver, antique gota borders and zardozi embroidery. Over the years, Bachchan Nanda’s collaboration with the designers has been a winning one with many memorable looks. For the wedding of her brother Abhishek Bachchan, it was an ivory Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla number with silver and gold vasli embroidery—that matched with the custom-made ensembles the rest of her family wore. In yet another wedding that she was seen attending with her family, she was spotted once again in a white chikankari lehenga with a shimmering blouse. 

Bachchan Nanda’s discerning choices also point to her appreciation for Indian textile arts and masterful craftsmanship. Through her choice of outfits, she’s often seen making a case for everything from exquisite zardozi to timeless chikankari. For the Isha Ambani–Anand Piramal wedding, she opted for an elegant Benarasi silk look with a matching blouse. The look was further elevated with statement jewellery—a grand polki necklace, earrings and a maangtikka. 

While she may love her traditional pieces, Shweta Bachchan Nanda is also given to experimenting with silhouettes, as was seen during the Akash and Shloka Ambani's wedding celebrations.
