So, if you are already thinking about your summer 2024 travel plans, consider signing up for a new tour led by former Beirut resident and travel advisor Jessica Parker. It's a 10-day, nine-night adventure across Lebanon's most beautiful and famous sights, natural landmarks, wineries, bustling cities, and scenic countryside. “Cool new spots and guest houses have cropped up all over the country as the Lebanese have been exploring more domestically, like we all did during the pandemic, and reinvesting in the country,” Parker told Travel + Leisure. Travelers will try their hand at cooking traditional Lebanese food, visit the city’s historical sights, and experience its vibrant nightlife while staying at the boutique Arthaus Beirut, housed in a former Roman villa with a garden and a swimming pool. Next is the coastal town of Sidon, with its lively souqs and 13th-century sea fortress built by the Crusaders. A highlight of the trip is visiting the ancient Phoenician city of Baalbek, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to a complex of incredibly preserved Roman ruins of “outstanding artistic and architectural value,” according to UNESCO. Finally, partake in Lebanese beach club culture and enjoy the warm waters of the Mediterranean in one of Batroun’s trendiest waterfront spots.
