Forty-three-year-old Bipasha, one of the fittest actors in the film industry continued her workouts and a healthy lifestyle, despite having difficult days initially.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the “Race” actor said she was inactive initially because of the morning sickness that she endured throughout the day.
“The first few months of my pregnancy were extremely difficult. People talk about morning sickness but I was sick all day long. Either I was on my bed or in the loo. I could barely eat, and I’d lost a lot of weight. It was only after a few months went by that I felt this horrible wave of sickness subside. I didn’t get any intense cravings, my body isn’t wired like that,” she said.
However, she was back in the gym and continued with her normal, balanced diet that comprised carbs, proteins, lean meats, and fruits.
Bipasha said she took up yoga and meditation to calm herself.
“Every time I meditate, my day is just so much better. This is my fitness routine for the moment. It’s light and breezy, just how it’s supposed to be. And over time, I have come to terms with changes in my body as week after week, I saw my amazing body transform,” she said.

Women with fitter lifestyles have it easier
Women across the world are always reminded of their biological clock ticking. Health experts say that the number of eggs women decreases as they age and pregnancy over 35 does come with additional risks of complications.
Many women suffer from ailments like hypertension and diabetes, or chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome.
However, studies conducted on the subject have revealed some surprising perks of being an older mom – for both the woman and her child.
Experts believe that those who have a fitter lifestyle and are engaged in regular exercises and eat a healthy diet can rest assured of their complication-free pregnancy. Here are a few benefits:
  • Late pregnancies boost brain power: A study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society says that having kids later in life can make you mentally sharper as you age.
  • Late pregnancies help balance emotional health: Mental health experts believe that having children after 35 emboldens a sense of maturity that comes along with age. Research also suggests that maturity plays a role in better parenting. A study published in the European Journal of Development says the psychosocial development of women is much more in the later ages which helps them raise emotionally strong kids.
  • Late pregnancies in fitter women cause fewer physical complications: Women who lead an active lifestyle and eat a balanced diet are less prone to pregnancy-related complications before and during childbirth. Doctors believe that 30 minutes of exercise or yoga helps relax muscles and keeps you fit.
  • Late pregnancies may help women live longer: Research says women who have children after 33 are twice as likely to live to age till their 90s compared to women who had their last child before age 30.
