A Boeing 737/800 aircraft from Air India Express landed at the Kannur International Airport here at . on Thursday as part of the trial landing of larger aircraft.

The flight departed from Thiruvananthapuram airport in the morning hovered over the airport here for nearly 45 minutes before it touched down on the airport tarmac at 11.35 a.m. The aircraft landed following six approaches. It also performed a docking trial, by docking with one of the passenger boarding bridges in the airport apron.

The aircraft was given water salute by airport fire tender units as it moved towards the apron.

KIAL Managing Director V. Thulasidas received flight crew including Capt. A. Sreenivasan Rao and Capt Aravind Kumar.
