    1. Substance of the poem, Where the Mind is Without
    Fear.
    The poet's prayer is for the dawn of true freedom on his
    country. This is possible in a state of freedom from fear
    and ignorance, bias and separatism. Dignity and reason
    wor here courageously and consciously through
    obstacles. The ob!ect is to ha"e the broadness of thought
    and action to attain perfection in freedom.

    first line. This line, howe"er, has a deep meaning, closely

    2. Describe the present state of the country.
    $ns. The poem, Where the Mind is Without Fear,
    was written when *ndia was struggling for Freedom. *t
    deals with social narrowness and meanness.
    0abindranath implies that situation in the poem. 3e
    mentions the lac of fearlessness, dignity and broadness
    among the Indian. Their lac of nowledge and reason is
    also e"ident. What is more they are lost in separatism and
    mean con"entionalism.
