Tina Ambani may not be as famous as other members of the Ambani clan, but she’s an amazing woman nonetheless. Here are five fascinating facts that you should know about the wife of Anil Ambani, the younger brother of world-famous business tycoon Mukesh Ambani.

1. She was a successful actress

As a single woman, Tina Munim threw herself into acting, becoming a successful actress with dozens of films to her credit. Her career started with Des Pardes and lasted for 12 years, ending only when she accepted Anil Ambani’s offer of marriage.

2. She prides herself in being a working woman

Tina Ambani has always prided herself in being a working woman. Even so, she doesn’t come across as arrogant but rather comfortable with her role in life and eager to put work into making her plans a reality.

Her former co-star Rishi Kapoor has praised her as an independent woman who made her own decisions rather than relying on her parents to provide support and advice. Others have noted that while she exerts control over the institutions and organisations she manages, she prefers to give experienced professionals the reins to handle day-to-day operations independently.

3. The Ambani clan wasn’t fond of her at first

Anil Ambani fell madly in love with Tina after initially meeting her at a wedding and then getting to know her better a few years later. He finally won Tina’s heart, and the two became serious about their relationship.

Unfortunately, it took time for the Ambani clan to accept Tina due to her past career as an actress. Tina and Anil actually wound up separating for four years before Anil managed to convince his father Dhirubhai to allow him to marry the woman of his choice.

4. She enjoys promoting arts and culture

Given Tina Ambani’s past career as an actress, it’s not surprising that she enjoys promoting arts and culture. She has promoted Indian art at home and abroad, served on the advisory board of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai, and worked with the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. Tina is also partnering with Unesco and the Archaeological Survey of India to help restore Elephanta Island.
