      Critics Consensus

Kick-Ass 2 falls short in its attempt to emulate the original's unique blend of ultra-violence and ironic humor.

Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online While the character development and underlying premise of this installment are far more eloquently stated than they were in the first film, Kick-Ass 2, like its characters, suffers at times from a dual identity. Rated: B- Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire Chloe Grace Moretz and the character of Hit Girl are so infinitely more entertaining than the film around them, you can't help but wonder why it's not just a movie about her. Jun 19, 2016 Full Review Jenny McCartney Daily Telegraph (UK) Although the film has the cheap veneer of female empowerment that comes from having a girl assassin, it is rotten with misogyny. Rated: 1/5 Jul 7, 2015 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Squanders all the potential of the franchise to deliver an overly indulgent and abrasive experience that aimed to be controversial but ends up being embarrassing. Rated: 2/5 Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Fleetingly enjoyable scenes suffer for the overall lack of cohesion. The film would have benefitted from some focus. Rated: 2/4 Aug 25, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Retains a nearly identical tone to its predecessor - an accomplishment few sequels can boast. Gary W It's ok but nowhere near as good as the first one. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Alan T It's not as bad as people think. Maybe not as good as the first film but only a little bit lacking, so my score is still the same as the first one. Though for Kick-Ass/Dave, I wish if he had a better ending and had better interactions with certain characters. Jim Carrey was pretty cool in this movie even though his role was short. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Alilali42 should have ended on the first movie. Tbh, but I guess this was entertaining too Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Dave B Any movie that has diarrhea as a gag will be hard to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Gabriel Valentim Muito bom o filme. Recomendo assistir. É um filme que entrega uma qualidade parecido com o filme que antecede este, mas tem alguns pontos que poderiam ter sido melhores. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review Amir A Kick-Ass 2 Was Still Fun and enjoyable but not as good as the first. Some Really Fake Looking Moments with Blood, Vomit and Green Screen But nonetheless, you can't take these Movies seriously and I think if Matthew Vaughn directed this then it would be better but Aaron Taylor Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz do a great job but a standout is Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D'Mico aka; The MotherF******who was absolutely Hilarious! Can't Wait for thr Kick-Ass Reboot! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
