Pen and ink portrait signed by Nobel Prize-winning author Rabindranath Tagore. One page, signed by Tagore “Rabindranath Tagore” and the unknown artist, “EM.” Accompanied by a leaf from a scrapbook on which is pasted a printed portrait of Tagore, a reproduction of a manuscript poem by him, and an original postal receipt for an item delivered to Tagore during his trip to Germany accomplished in unknown hand and stamped in Schönberg on May 14, 1930. In near fine condition.

Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali polymath who reshaped Bengali literature and music, as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of Gitanjali and its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse", he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
