Los Santos, Panama - Polarsteps

πŸŠπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Playa La Candelaria πŸ“La Candelaria, Los Santos, πŸ‡΅πŸ‡¦ πŸŽ₯ https://youtu.be/N7YwbzsAxro 🌟🌟🌟 We came to explore yet another of the many beaches of Los Santos' extensive coast on the Pacific Ocean. There is another beach by the same name farther on in Pocri, near the beach we previously visited a few weeks ago. If you know Panama you should already know there won't be any lifesavers here, nor public showers. But not all is lost! We are sure that if you have lunch at Rest. Brisas del Mar they would let you use their bathroom. The wet sand was unbelievably fluffy, like walking on a cloud! This we had only experienced at Bluff Beach in Bocas del Toro. The water was warm, especially near the rocks that acted as breakwater during the rising tide. Like most (except in the islands) Panamanian Pacific beaches, the water is brownish due to the colloudal sand, but it is clean water. We didn't go more than knee deep because the waves were strong, I don't swim, and we couldn't gauge the depths. There are kilometers to walk on the beach enjoying this beautiful nature in mostly secluded beaches. During our long walk (about 4kms) to both sides we encountered many interesting things on the sand. We found 4 dead uneaten lobsters although one was decapitated. I had never seen so "many" dead lobsters! Lots of opened oysters and a few shellfish. And most disturbingly, a couple of stingray remnants! If you go into the water it MIGHT be advisable to sweep your feet in the water just in case there is one buried there. The sad part of our visit was the disturbing amount of plastic debris we found washed ashore by the tides. We lunched at Rest. Brisas del Mar a delicious fried red snapper with fried plaintains.
