Daily soaps always promise a unique blend of drama and entertainment. This year the makers are trying to dive into unchartered territories and bring out stories that the audience had not thought of.

Here are five TV shows that are coming up in 2024.

1. ‘Mera Balam Thanedaar’

Starring Shagun Pandey and Shruti Chaudhary, ‘Mera Balam Thanedaar’ is reportedly a remake of a Marathi show – ‘Raja Rani Chi Ga Jodi.’ The show has been produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions. It revolves around a minor girl who is married to a constable. The show is set to air on Colors TV from January 3 onwards.

2. ‘Pracchand Ashok’

With Adnan Khan and Mallika Singh in lead roles, this serial will explore the love story between Emperor Ashoka and Princess Kaurwaki. This Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming drama is set to grace our television screens soon. While the date has not been announced, Colors TV shared a promo video that gives a glimpse of what the show will be about. The release date has not been announced yet. It will air on Colors TV.

3. ‘Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aaise Hai’

This upcoming family drama stars Meera Deosthale and Zaan Khan in lead roles. The show will address the issue of dowry. This will mark Meera Deosthale’s return to TV after ‘Gud Se Meetha Ishq.’ Meera’s character will be rooted in tradition, but she isn’t afraid to call out the wrongs in society. The show will air soon on Sony TV.

4. ‘Aankh Micholi’

Following the success of ‘Aashiqana,’ Khushi Dubey is set to star in this serial along with Navneet Malik. Khushi plays the role of Rukmini, an undercover cop. She ends up marrying a tea seller and now she has to navigate her personal and professional life. The show is set to air on Star Plus soon.

5. ‘Shrimad Ramayan’

Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary and Swastik Productions, this serial will be another retelling of ‘Ramayana.’ It stars Sujay Reu, Prachi Bansal, and Nikitin Dheer in lead roles. The show is airing on Sony TV.
