'Shrimad Ramayan' is a mythological television series that premiered on January 1, 2024, on Sony Entertainment Television. Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary under the banner of Swastik Productions, the series features Sujay Reu portraying Rama and Prachi Bansal as Sita. It chronicles the extraordinary life of Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, illustrating how he navigated through adversities and served as an inspiration. The series depicts his journey and the challenges he faced to liberate his beloved wife, Sita (incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi), from the clutches of the rakshasa king Ravana, who abducted her.

Reportedly today, the series aired 12 minutes later than the scheduled time. The series airs on TV, nowadays, from 9 pm – 9:30 pm. Earlier, the series aired for an hour.
One social media user took to microblogging site X and said, “Not sure what's happening here, do you have an update? @SonyTV The telecast of #ShrimadRamayan that was supposed to start at 9:00 hasn't yet begun, and ads are playing on a loop. Also, the 1-hour telecast was much better than the 30 mins one, because the latter is just too little.”
“@SonyTV, if it is some glitch then rectify it ASAP. From 11 min you are showing ads repeatedly. This is so frustrating #ShrimadRamayan,” wrote another X user.
One more X user said, “I am waiting for #ShrimadRamayan and they are showing back-to-back the same promo of new upcoming shows from more than 5 mins. It's so frustrating.”
“I think Sony hired freshers with 5 years of experience to handle the channel. They are showing the same ads again and again,” wrote another viewer of the series.
Today, the episode began at 9:12 pm and ended at 9:45 pm (33 minutes including multiple commercials).
