Bipasha Basu hits back at trolls criticising her postpartum weight gain: ‘I’m not bothered’

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has spoken out against trolls who have criticised her postpartum weight gain. The actress said that she is "not bothered" by the negative comments.

New Delhi: On November 12, 2022, Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The couple named their first daughter Devi Basu Singh Grover and announced her name to the world and their fans in a special post. And now, the new parents, Bipasha and Karan discussed parenthood in a joint interview with News18. Bipasha also discussed those who mock her for gaining weight.

Bipasha Basu, who became a mother through IVF, discussed the criticism she faced for her postpartum weight gain. Addressing the negativity, she calmly responded, “I urge them to continue trolling; it doesn’t affect me.” Her husband Karan supported her, stating, “As long as they’re watching, it’s fine.” He humorously described himself as a “slave” with two “masters” now. Bipasha shared that she maintained discipline as a parent, while Karan often found himself teased by their 10-month-old daughter, Devi. Despite it all, they both indicated that these challenges hadn’t significantly altered their lives.

Devi had 2 holes in her heart

Bipasha became upset earlier this year during an Instagram Live discussion with actor  Neha Dhupia, revealing that her daughter was born with two holes in her heart and had surgery when she was approximately three months old. “In our experience as parents, it has been exceptionally challenging, far beyond what might appear from my current cheerful demeanor,” she stated in the August interview. “I would never wish this on any mother. When you learn that as a new mother… On the third day of my pregnancy, I learned that our baby was delivered with two holes in her heart. I thought I wouldn’t post this, but I’m doing so because I believe there are many moms that assisted me on my trip, and it was tough to discover those mothers…”

Bipasha Basu on being a mother

“Devi’s my number one when it comes to everything and anything,” Bipasha stated. It’s always her, whether my eyes are open or closed. I simply want to go back home and be with her every time I leave the house. Everything in my life is now centred around her… Karan is ranked third, I am ranked second, and Devi is ranked first.”
