15 years of 'Mohabbatein': 15 lesser-known facts about the movie

15 years ago, on the same day, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer musical romantic drama ‘Mohabbatein’ got released. We grew up dancing on those popular tracks. However irrelevant we may find this movie today, but we still love everything about it. Shah Rukh Khan made a style statement with his looks in the movie and this film had a lot of story for each actor involved in the making of the film. 1. Karan Johar had designed clothes for Amitabh Bachchan’s character in the movie. Big B’s look was more Indo-western with those long length Bandhgalas.

2. Shamita Shetty and Kim Sharma’s role were earlier offered to Karishma Kapoor and Kajol, but they rejected it.

3. Sridevi was supposed to play Amitabh Bachchan’s love interest in the movie but after she rejected the role, the makers decided to remove the character from the movie.

4. Shah Rukh Khan agreed to do the film without looking at the script first.

5. The school campus 'Gurukul' set was erected in London, England.

6. Shah Rukh Khan’s name in the movie was inspired from his son Aryan.

7. All the six newcomers started rehearsing for the film six months prior to shooting.

8. Originally, before the release of the film, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was meant to be a guest appearance. However, after the film released, the fact she was in the film became so popular that the filmmakers decided to make her a regular character.

9. Mithun Chakraborthy was signed to play a special appearance. He was signed to play Shefali Shetty army husband. Aditya decided to scrap the role due to the length of the film.
