Remember how Deepika Padukone burst onto the big screen with her debut role as a yesteryear superstar in Om Shanti Om? The world stopped to stare and rightfully so. Well, over 15 years later, the actress' Oscar 2023 appearance had pretty much the same effect on her colleagues and fans across the world. Standing tall and statuesque in a black Louis Vuitton ballgown and Cartier jewellery, Deepika Padukone introduced the Naatu Naatu performance by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava at the 95th Academy Awards. Her brief yet impactful on-stage appearance has left everyone asking for more. Her Bollywood colleagues too cannot stop gushing about the superstar and her aura (for good reason, might we add). For instance, actress Alia Bhatt – who played a pivotal role in the Oscar-winning RRR– has shared an image of Deepika Padukone from the red carpet and said, “This beauty making India proud and how,” with heart emojis.

Take a look at Alia Bhatt's post:

Tagging Deepika Padukone on her Instagram Stories upload, actress Neha Dhupia wrote: “Deepika Padukone, you force. You beauty,” with a heart emoji.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu spoke for all of us when she reshared a post of Deepika Padukone's Oscar look and said, “Dead,” with heart emojis.

Karan Johar stated that Deepika Padukone was “grace personified” at the Academy Awards ceremony and we cannot help but agree.

Deepika Padukone also shared a series of images of herself ahead of the ceremony and needless to say, the comments section is overflowing with compliments. Actress Neelam Kothari Soni said: “Gorgeous,” while singer Vijay Yesudas dropped fire and heart emojis.

In response to another post shared by Deepika Padukone with just the hashtag “Oscars95” as the caption, Alia Bhatt said, “Ufff stunner.” Well, we have to agree with that observation.

Speaking of the Oscars, India has won two accolades at the 95th edition of the prestigious award. While RRR's Naatu Naatu won the Best Original Song award, The Elephant Whisperers won an Oscar in the Best Documentary Short Subject category. Superstar Deepika Padukone is the third Indian to attend the Academy Awards as a presenter after Persis Khambatta and Priyanka Chopra. The actress was last seen in Pathaan, which is currently running in theatres across the world.
