Good news for people who really hate wearing reading glasses. E Ink has unveiled an almost comically large electronic paper display.
It measures a whopping 32 inches diagonally. Reading “Harry Potter” on the bus with this thing would pretty much be like carrying around a big-screen TV.
The Kindle E-Reader, in comparison, has a 6-inch display.
Not that many individuals are expected to buy it. The mammoth display is being marketed as a feature for information kiosks. (E Ink has yet to release information on pricing and availability).
That means it's more likely that someone will use it to get information on the panda exhibit at the San Diego Zoo than read the latest Dan Brown thriller. But that doesn't mean some visually impaired basketball star can't buy one when they eventually go on sale.
