Sharing my idea "In SharePoint 2016 + SOAP Services GetCurrentUserInfo using jQuery in web platform" 

By using Web service defined methods, Helps to make communicate with users and groups in SP, Based on user info we can make customization is web platform

For example : http://<Your SharePoint Site URL>/_vti_bin/UserGroup.asmx.

Above code used in the platform of SharePoint 2016. Just captured current user in declared var "currusergrp" and used through out all the way in customized web layouts..
