What is the Cost of Ram Mandir? 

According to the Economic Times, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust which was formed for the purpose of handling the expenses and construction of the divine temple received over ₹3,500 crores.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, entrusted with the temple's construction, initially projected the cost to be around ₹1,800 crore ($217 million, approx.) This hefty sum encompasses various factors, including:

  • Construction materials: High-quality Rajasthani sandstone, Makrana marble, and precious metals like gold and silver are being used, contributing significantly to the overall cost.
  • Labour and machinery: A skilled workforce and specialised machinery are necessary for such large-scale projects, adding to the financial burden. 
  • Design and architecture: The intricate carvings, elaborate designs, and traditional building techniques employed in the temple's construction require meticulous planning and skilled execution, impacting the budget.
  • Administrative expenses: Land acquisition, legal fees, security measures, and other administrative necessities also factor into the final cost.
