Ayodhya's Ram Mandir and Uttar Pradesh's spiritual renaissance: Dawn of a new era

The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was not merely an architectural feat but a beacon of devotion. This event also highlighted Uttar Pradesh's rise as a nucleus of religious tourism in India.

In late November, India Today Group started a project, termed Divine Odyssey. Our team members visited Varanasi, Prayagraj, Naimisharanya, Mathura, and Vrindavan and witnessed how a statewide infrastructure push was making the state’s transformation an urgent reality.

At the core of the grand inauguration in Ayodhya was the message of harmony and power of faith. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address, encapsulated the essence of this moment, stating, "The construction of this temple for Ram Lalla signifies the peace, patience, mutual harmony, and coordination of Indian society. We are witnessing that this construction is not causing any fire but, in fact, is giving birth to energy. The construction of the Ram temple is also a symbol of inspiration for every section of society to progress on the path of a bright future."

This statement, sourced from his speech after the pran pratishtha ritual at the Ram temple, underlines the social and religious significance of this endeavour.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking on the occasion, remarked, "The pran pratishtha of Ram Lalla is a harmonious expression of our cultural conscience, marking a cultural renaissance in India. It is not merely a temple, but a national temple."
